Our mission at Pat Love & Associates is to make a faucet out of a firehose by offering a variety of online resources full of practical, research-based information, skills, and advice for couples and individuals who want healthy, happy, meaningful relationships in our ever-changing world.

Dr. Pat Love is known for her warmth, humor, and practical, research-based wisdom. Her blog posts, YouTube clips, books, trainings, workshops, and online courses have made her a popular go-to relationship consultant. Her work has been featured on TV, in cyberspace, and popular magazines, but she’s also a distinguished professor, licensed marriage and family therapist, and long-standing clinical member and approved supervisor in American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Dr. Love (yes that is her real surname) has authored/co-authored six books, has written numerous professional publications, and has developed multiple training programs including Love Education™. Her work literally has taken her around the world to help people understand and improve their relationships.

Dr. Love received her doctor of education in counselor education from West Virginia University. She was a tenured associate professor at Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas for six years before establishing the Austin Family Institute in Austin, Texas. Dr. Love also served as president of the International Association for Marriage and Family Counseling.

Today, she continues following her passion to help others through her writing and as a relationship consultant, trainer, and workshop presenter.

Kathleen McFadden, CLE is a professional writer, trainer, relationship educator, and co-founder of Love Education™, a comprehensive certification program for relationship repair, reconnection, and transformation. In 2016 Kathleen published her first book, You’re Tearing Us Apart: Twenty Ways We Wreck Our Relationships and Strategies to Repair Them, with co-authors Pat Love and Eva Berlander.

Kathleen’s passion is applying research to develop new training programs that truly help change lives. Her extensive background in business gives her a unique perspective on the never-ending demands of balancing career, family, relationships, and quality of life.

Known for her warmth and authentic style, Kathleen has been a featured workshop presenter and speaker for national and international conferences. She has co-developed programs including The New Hot MonogamyHot Monogamy EssentialsThe Essence of Marriage, and the online series Love—What Everyone Needs to Know.

Kathleen received her bachelor’s degree in English with a Technical Writing Specialization from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She developed a highly successful career in high tech as a Director of Business Development & Marketing, Business Analyst, and Technical Writer for companies including CyberSource (a Visa company), SGI, IBM, and EDS. Kathleen left high tech in 2001 to become a marriage educator and trainer under the mentorship of Dr. Pat Love. She continues to research, write, and co-develop educational curricula and training programs for individuals, couples, and mental health professionals.
